I started by thinking about the feelings of the book and how I possibly wanted to convey this through a cover. I began by creating simple thumbnails which gave me a better idea of what I wanted to use material-wise.
During my next phase, I used Photoshop to refine one of my simple thumbnails. I masked images and chose fonts to help me decide which I would use to begin embroidering.
I wanted my book cover to represent both traditional values while expressing the value of words so I decided to embroider the book title by hand. While I was looking for a suitable image to use as the background I looked through my closet. I found a dress with an embroidered pattern that would fit well with my other elements.
I revised the cover by adjusting my font pairings and rearranging the embroidered flowers.
